Ted Scott-Smith is Paralegal and Advocate with Lex Tecnica who brings nearly two decades of experience as a public school special education teacher. As a veteran educator who continues to work in the classroom today, Ted offers families and attorneys a current, practical understanding of how schools operate, how IEPs are implemented, and how educational decisions affect students with disabilities.


Throughout his career, Ted has participated in hundreds of IEP meetings and worked with students across elementary, middle, and high school settings with a wide range of disabilities. His experience allows him to identify educational needs, recognize procedural and substantive issues, and help families navigate complex special education matters with confidence.


At Lex Tecnica, Ted works alongside the firm's attorneys and advocates to support families navigating special education disputes. His work includes reviewing educational records, assisting with case preparation, and helping parents understand their rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504, and related education laws. His approach is practical, collaborative, and grounded in real world classroom experience.
