Keni Kalama

Keni Kalama is a business development and strategic partnerships professional with more than a decade of experience in higher education, workforce development, international engagement, procurement and community-centered initiatives. He holds an MBA from American Public University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brigham Young University–Hawaii.

Prior to joining Lex Tecnica, Keni served as Career Services Manager at BYU–Hawaii, where he led career and employer engagement initiatives supporting students and alumni from more than 60 countries across Hawaii, the U.S. and the Asia-Pacific region. He co-founded and directed the Asia Pacific Career Conference (APCC), connecting hundreds of employers, graduate schools, government entities and industry leaders with students from around the world. His work focused on international partnerships, career readiness, leadership development, and creating pathways to education and employment.

Keni currently serves as Director of Global Partnerships for Xtreme Habitats Institute, advancing strategic collaborations and innovative housing initiatives. At Lex Tecnica, he is helping establish and expand the firm’s immigration practice through strategic partnerships, community outreach, and efforts to increase access to immigration services for individuals, families, businesses, and employers.

Immigration work is especially meaningful to Keni because it reflects his own family’s story. His mother and her family emigrated from New Zealand to the United States, giving him a personal appreciation for the opportunities, challenges, and sacrifices involved in building a life in a new country. As someone of Native Hawaiian and Maori heritage, and fluent in Tagalog, he values cultural understanding and is committed to helping individuals and families pursue opportunities and create brighter futures.

Keni believes meaningful relationships, service, and advocacy have the power to strengthen communities and improve lives.
