Joseph Martinez

Joseph Martinez  is an IEP Paralegal at Lex Tecnica, where he supports families navigating IEP/504 special education matters and Regional Center IPP advocacy throughout Southern California, with a particular emphasis with a strong presence in the Inland Empire. With a background as both a special education teacher and paraeducator, Joseph brings a unique combination of firsthand educational insight, practical advocacy experience, and genuine compassion to every family he serves.


Drawing on firsthand experience in public education, Joseph helps families navigate complex systems with clarity and confidence. He also has extensive experience as a parent to a child with an IEP as well.  He is passionate about helping parents understand their rights, access meaningful supports, and confidently advocate for their children’s needs.


Throughout his career, Joseph has successfully advocated for increased related services, eligibility corrections, stronger and more measurable IEP goals, placement changes, and favorable resolutions in due process-related matters. He has helped numerous families secure appropriate offers of FAPE (Free Appropriate Public Education) and sustainable supports through both school districts and Regional Centers.


Joseph’s approach is rooted in collaboration, open communication, and trust. He works closely with families, educators, and service providers to develop practical, child-centered solutions that create meaningful progress. His training in conflict resolution and mediation allows him to approach disputes with a calm, solutions-focused mindset.
