Jennifer Dewey, M.A.Ed., M.A. (Reading), BCEA and founder of Comprehensive Advocacy Resources and Educational Services is a paralegal and Board Certified Educational Advocate specializing in education advocacy, IEPs, Section 504 plans, assessments, behavioral supports, and educational services. She brings 31 years of experience in public education and school administration, having served as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, vice principal, principal, and charter school administrator. Jennifer’s extensive experience working inside schools gives her a unique perspective as an advocate. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with IEP and Section 504 teams and led initiatives involving academic intervention, Response to Intervention (RTI), PBIS, restorative practices, student behavior, and school discipline. This experience allows her to understand

both the needs of families and the systems, processes, and decision-making that occur within schools.


Her advocacy work includes IEP and 504 development and implementation, assessments and eligibility, behavioral and social-emotional needs, FBAs and BIPs, discipline, placement, accommodations, related services, reading and academic intervention, and transition planning. Jennifer helps families understand their rights, identify their child’s educational needs, and work

toward appropriate and meaningful supports and services. Her approach is grounded in preparation, collaboration, and student-centered problem solving,

with the goal of protecting students’ educational rights while fostering productive relationships between families and school teams.
