Courtney Burnett, SLPA, B.C.A.S.E., is a Paralegal at Lex Tecnica, where she
supports families by assisting special education attorneys in resolving disputes
between families and school districts.
She brings over 12 years of experience in special education advocacy and
communication support, with a strong track record of helping families navigate
complex school systems, strengthen IEPs, and secure meaningful educational
supports for their children.
Courtney’s work spans IEP review, advocacy strategy development, assistive
technology and AAC support, and dispute navigation. As an advocate, she works
closely with families to review their child’s IEP, identify gaps, and develop clear,
data-driven strategies to maximize outcomes during IEP meetings. Her approach is grounded in clarity, collaboration, and practical problem-solving, helping families feel prepared, confident, and informed at every step.
In addition to her role at Lex Tecnica, Courtney is the founder of Little Champions
LLC, where she has supported hundreds of families through the special education
process and contributed to broader advocacy and systems-level efforts.
Prior to her current roles, Courtney worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist
Assistant, supporting students with communication needs and gaining hands-on
experience in service delivery within school settings.
