Chris Tanner is a Partner attorney based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Chris focuses on intellectual property matters including federal patent and trademark prosecution and litigation.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Florida Atlantic University with a minor in Computer Science and Microprocessors, Chris worked as an Engineer for IBM. Chris is a former Examiner with the US Patent and Trademark Office, and practiced US and Japanese patent law from Tokyo for several years. Chris has been an expert witness in federal patent litigations. Chris has transacted negotiations at several Patent Offices worldwide including the Japanese Patent Office, the Indonesian Directorate General of Intellectual Property, and has also transacted interviews at various of the US Patent Office satellite locations as well as the main Patent Office in Arlington VA.
Chris has patent expertise in many fields, a truncated list includes semiconductors, complex electronics, medical devices, nuclear power generation, along with numerous consumer devices, toys, games, and sports equipment.
Chris has trademark and branding expertise in almost all International Classes including consumer goods, educational products, physical therapy systems, chemistry-based products, and computer-based products including mobile apps.
Chris tries hard to see every invention in-person and meet inventors in-person, where possible.
